Greek Yogurt w/ Blackberry Chili Syrup and Hazelnuts
Greek yogurt is one of my favorite breakfasts. It makes me feel very healthy to eat it in the morning. My issue is it can get a bit boring. Trying to get creative with it is a challenge for me. After all it is just yogurt.
Recently I made a Blackberry Chili Syrup and I am hooked. It will be in my refrigerator at all times. I posted about a few things I have been putting it on and my morning yogurt is just one. The flavor of this syrup is mildly sweet and has a slight kick to it from the chili which I find delicious. Blackberries are on the tart side as far as berries go, so the molasses and agave don’t make it sickly sweet. Just the right amount for breakfast. Mixed with the creamy tartness of the greek yogurt the syrup offers up a satisfying moment with your yogurt that makes you say, mmm.
There really is no recipe once the syrup has been made. Assemble your yogurt and enjoy.
I do keep various chopped nuts in my freezer for quick assembly of foods. Hazelnuts are my seasonal fav at the moment. This combination was such a new taste sensation I can’t explain it. Give it a try!
