Passion Tea Lemonade (Gluten Free)

I have been known to suck down a venti passion tea lemonade in under 10 minutes. Needless to say, as a lover of lemon, and passion tea: I. Love. This. Drink. We are in the thick of summer right now and I say that no summer shall be complete without an icy glass of PTL, (or a few glasses). But since it’s three dollars a cup and I mostly end up paying for ice, (I’m onto you, Starbucks), I decided to make it. And you should too!

This recipe makes about 2 quarts of passion tea lemonade. But of course, depending on your flavor preferences you could end up with a little more or little less.

Passion Tea Lemonade


4 bags Tazo Passion tea

1 1/2 cups lemon juice

2 to 2 1/2 cups simple syrup

4 cups water


basil (optional)


Start by steeping the tea bags in two cups of water, (this can be done days ahead of time). You’re making a concentrate so you can leave those bags in there anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

Once you remove the bags, transfer the concentrate to a two quart pitcher or any kind of container with that holding capacity. Add the lemon juice and then the two cups of simple syrup. If it’s not to your liking, go ahead and add more. Lastly, dilute this mixture with 4 cups of water. Again, if this is too strong, add some more water.

Behold the pink beauty of the Passion tea lemonade. Pour it in a glass filled with ice and sit back by the pool. Enjoy!
