Simple Syrup (Gluten Free)

Have you ever been drinking something and thought it could use a little sweetness? So have we! Unfortunately, here at the compromised kitchen, we are sometimes too lazy to wait for sugar to dissolve. Who needs the hassle? That’s why, when it comes to sweetened beverages, simple syrup is the way to go. It comes pre-disolved! And it’s so absolutely easy I don’t think I could mess it up if I tried.

Simple Syrup


1 cup sugar

1 cup water


Pour both the sugar and the water in a pot big enough to hold it. Set the heat to high. When the water boils, turn off the heat.

That’s it! Once it’s cooled you can store it in a jar and keep it for weeks. Use it as needed. Enjoy!
